Peptides
BPC-157
Body Protection Compound 157
Category
Healing peptide
Half-life
~4 hours (subcutaneous)
Typical dose
250β500 mcg
Frequency
2Γ daily (AM/PM)
Route
Subcutaneous or intramuscular
Mechanism
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide β a partial sequence of body protection compound derived from human gastric juice. It promotes healing through multiple pathways: upregulation of growth hormone receptors in tendon fibroblasts, nitric oxide synthesis, angiogenesis via VEGF, and cytoprotection of the gastrointestinal tract. Primary investigator Predrag Sikiric has published over 100 papers on BPC-157 mechanisms across tendon, muscle, bone, gut, and nerve tissue.
Research summary
Animal studies demonstrate consistent regenerative effects across tendon rupture, muscle tear, inflammatory bowel conditions, and traumatic brain injury. BPC-157 appears to accelerate healing timelines and reduce inflammatory markers. Human clinical data is limited β most evidence comes from animal models and case reports. No Phase 3 human trial data exists as of 2025.
Storage
Lyophilized: β20Β°C. Reconstituted: 2β8Β°C up to 6 weeks.

Frequently asked questions
What is BPC-157 used for?
BPC-157 is researched for tissue repair β particularly tendon, muscle, and gut healing. Animal studies show accelerated recovery from injuries and cytoprotective effects on gastrointestinal tissue.
How do you reconstitute BPC-157?
Add bacteriostatic water to the lyophilized vial. Common protocol: 5mg vial + 2mL bac water = 2500 mcg/mL concentration. Draw to the appropriate unit mark on a U-100 insulin syringe for your target dose.
What is the BPC-157 half-life?
BPC-157 has a short half-life of approximately 4 hours via subcutaneous injection, which is why twice-daily dosing is common in research protocols.
